This
issue we are looking at a
new web site for Berkeley James Holidays Abroad, based in Lutterworth,
Leicestershire.
Client's brief to the web site designer:
To provide a professional and informative tool
that IFAs can use to show projects and properties to prospective
buyers. The web site would need to be easy to use, both for the
IFA and
also
their customers when they view the properties from home. The client
also wanted to be able to update the web site themselves, to add
new
properties, change details etc.
Project approach
After initial meetings between client and designer,
Abbey Park produced a working prototype to test how the web site
might
work
in practice.
New ideas were added and the design developed until the client
was happy.
A database was designed and used to store information about each
project in a consistent, easily updateable format. Abbey Park then
completed the web site development, added the properties, photos
etc, before
training
the client on
how to
update
the web site
via a secure admin page, and then making the site live.
Outcome
Both IFAs and clients have been very positive,
both about the site and the service Berkeley James are offering.
The time taken to get the web site absolutely right has helped
to get the business off to a flying start.
