issue we look at new, updated web
site for Corby Polymex, based in Corby, Northamptonshire.
Client's brief to the web
site designer:
To replace the existing website (not developed
by Abbey Park) with a more informative and product based web site,
thereby freeing up sales staff's time from answering routine questions.
Project
approach
Meetings
were held between client and designer to look at the probable requirements
of visitors to the site and how best to organise and display products.
An e-commerce package developed by web designer Abbey Park was
used as the basis for the project, allowing a rapid implementation
of proven features, while enabling customisation to Corby Polymex's
requirements. Abbey Park took the photographs of all products and
loaded the database before the web site went live.
Outcome
Feedback from customers has been very good, with
the web site making people much more aware of the wide range of
products
Corby Polymex can offer, plus the values and benefits of dealing
with the business. It has freed up staff time so that they can
focus on
more value
added
activities,
such
as
dealing
with
higher quality incoming sales enquiries that the site is generating.
